Exam Preparation Course: DELF / DALF tout public / TCF

We help you prepare for your diploma and choose the right one for you, based on your level, your needs, your progress and the length of your stay.

Please note that Naturellement Français is not an exam centre.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES - DELF / DALF / TCF PREPARATION

  • Familiarisation with exam conditions
  • Intensive training using sample exams and core exercises
  • Methodological guidance and development of learning strategies
  • Study of vocabulary and themes specific to each level
  • Strengthening the 4 communication skills (written and oral production, written and oral comprehension)

DELF and DALF tout public

The DELF (Diplôme d’Études en Langue Française) and the DALF (Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française) are official diplomas awarded by the French Ministry of National Education together with France Éducation International.

They are internationally recognised and valid with no time limit. The 6 diplomas match levels A1 to C2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR): the DELF covers levels A1 to B2 and the DALF covers C1 and C2. They are independent of each other: depending on your level, you can register directly for the exam of your choice.

Exams can be taken at approved examination centres worldwide (see the detailed list on the France Éducation International website). Registration is made directly with these centres, in France and abroad. The registration fee is set for each diploma by the French regional education authorities (rectorats): to find out the fees and session dates, please contact the exam centre of your choice.

TCF – Test de Connaissance du Français

The TCF, or Test de Connaissance du Français, is a language test designed and administered by France Éducation International, under the responsibility of the French Ministry of National Education, Higher Education and Research.

It assesses the general level of French as a foreign language for people over 16 whose first language is not French.

This internationally recognised test allows candidates to demonstrate, at a given point in time, their French language skills according to the criteria defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

TCF scores result in a certificate valid for 2 years.

Depending on needs and target audience, the TCF is available in different versions, including the TCF tout public and the TCF Intégration, Résidence et Nationalité.

The TCF Tout public

The TCF tout public is for people who wish to have their French level assessed for academic, professional or personal reasons.

The exam consists of:

  • 3 compulsory parts: oral comprehension, written comprehension and grammar;
  • 2 optional parts: oral and written expression.

The TCF Intégration, Résidence et Nationalité (TCF IRN)

The TCF IRN (Intégration, Résidence et Nationalité) is for people wishing to validate an integration pathway (A1 level required), obtain a multi-year residence permit (A2 level required), a resident card (B1 level required), or French nationality (B2 level required).

The exam assesses language skills only, not knowledge of French history, culture or society. It consists of 4 compulsory tests: oral and written comprehension, as well as written and oral expression.
